I guess it must be a kind of relief to feel those palettes and those feelings belong to the past since you have a different president now… I wish in a not so distant future I could feel the same…
Yes, certainly. Although we still have a lot of work to do that doesn't seem to be getting done. I hope the best for you too. It seems like the whole planet is coming to one of those points where things have to change or there will be consequences. I hope we all make the right choices. That reminded me of another palette.

Art should be a place to channel your sense of frustration and joy, this is what loving colours and art is all about Pete ![]() ![]() ![]() GreenMyEy… GreenMyEyes

It is a pity the commercial link was included. It really spoiled the meaning of the statement which was previously made. ![]() ![]() ![]() oftimesov… oftimesovast
well, i hadn't even thought of making one before. however, this thread motivated me to make one. ![]() things aren't too great in the dominican republic. not that they ever have, but it's difficult to watch history repeat itself over and over. sometimes it just feels we're doomed to keep repeating the same mistakes. it's just frustrating, especially since i love my country. watching people exploit it and it's people for financial gain is particularly unnerving. the worst part is...no one feels the need to do anything about it. it seems dominicans have gotten so used to political leaders doing away with everything that they've become complacent and in doing so, forgotten about their own self-worth and their rights as citizens of this country. sorry, i got a bit carried away there. xP and i'm not very informed about the situation in argentina. however, i know enough to realize that lady doesn't belong in the 'casa rosada'.
I think getting used to abusive policies is the worst part of having an incompetent government in power… It seems citizens feel that it is useless to fight against corruption… Most of them accept dishonesty in politics as part of the natural order of things…
that's exactly right! people have adopted this "if you can't beat them, join them" attitude. instead of fighting corruption, they've become willing participants of it. they've abandoned any sort of moral or ethic code, because they have witnessed that honesty won't get you far in any aspect of your life. sad, but true. add to that the increasing materialism and importance being placed on monetary worth and you've got yourself a dangerous combination. you begin associating the two and you start thinking: "the only way i'll ever be successful or make a name for myself is through illicit practices". it's terrible. i mean, you see it everyday in all sorts of different contexts, not just politics. after a while, just like you said, you begin to accept it as the unyielding reality.
they've abandoned any sort of moral NOTE: Personally I believe honesty is the best policy, especially when faced with certain situations. I meant to say that's what most other people think.
I think that even the most corrupt politicians start their political careers full of romantic idealism and a sincere determination to change the world and to put an end to social injustice… The point is… when does ambition blind them to give up their original well-meaning intentions to sell themselves to corruption? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
